Welcome to the Northwestern University Affiliated Transplant Centers.
As the leaders of established organ transplant programs at two of Chicago's most respected medical institutions, we envisioned the importance of a formal alliance. After integrating the expertise of adult services at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and pediatric services at Children's Memorial Hospital, we feel confident that no other transplant center in the Midwest possesses the medical potency of Northwestern University Affiliated Transplant Centers (NUATC).

Each hospital stands alone as a national leader. As allies in making transplantation an option for more patients, we form a powerful, single resource of combined skills, innovation, and research. NUATC delivers a continuum of outstanding care for patients of all ages, not only in transplant surgery, but also by providing comprehensive care for organ system diseases. We also serve the medical community and managed care by ensuring specialty care for children and adults, with lifelong follow-up for both.

The scope of NUATC allows for cost-effectiveness and contractual arrangements aimed at making comprehensive care for organ disease more available. Care remains very compassionate and personalized because of the specialized proficiency in each type of disease and the dedicated teams of professionals who attend to each patient before, during and after surgery.

The mission of NUATC is to create an environment in which children and adults of all ages can receive outstanding comprehensive transplant care and where transplant physicians and surgeons can contribute meaningfully to the knowledge and understanding of transplantation through research. Both institutions of have invested tremendous resources to support this goal.

By integrating the adult and pediatric transplant centers under the academic and scientific auspices of Northwestern University, we now offer the highest quality transplant services for all organs and tissues to people of all ages. We are confident that the affiliation of our two centers into NUATC creates the most comprehensive transplant organization in our region of the United States. We fully expect that NUATC will quickly emerge as one of a small group of pre-eminent centers that lead American organ and tissue transplantation.
